Position: Preschool Teacher
Days: Monday - Friday
Full-Time Hours: 8/8:30am-4:30/5pm (benefits)
Pay: $25/hour (start), $26/hour (2nd anniversary), $27/hour (5th anniversary)
General Function:
The Village Little Preschool Teacher assumes responsibility for supervising, planning, and executing activities within a nurturing Christian environment that fosters love for Jesus, embraces God's Word, and emphasizes the significance of prayer.
To qualify, the Teacher must meet California licensing requirements for preschool educators.
Administrative responsibilities encompass, but are not confined to: (1) Developing and implementing curriculum, (2) Ensuring a well-maintained and organized facility, and (3) Cultivating positive relationships with fellow staff, children, and families within the community.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a commitment to the teachings of Jesus Christ and support of Christian principles taught in the Holy Bible.
- *Must have a minimum of 12 semester (18 quarter) units in Early Childhood Education (ECE) including units in: child development; child, family and community; and, age appropriate curriculum.
No introductory courses are acceptable.
Transcripts are required.

- 6 months work experience is required.
The physical demands of the position include:
- Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
- Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch.
Ability to climb, push and pull.
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to change diapers.

* Have you completed 12 semester (18 quarter) units of Early Childhood Education? At least one class must be taken in each of the following categories: (1) Child/Human Growth Development, (2) Child, Family, & Community, and (3) Program/Curriculum.
* Do you have a minimum of 6 months experience working with preschool children?
* Are you willing to work with 2 year old children and change diapers?
* Are you willing to run around with the children and get on the ground/carpet to play with them, and willing to be on your feet for long periods of time?
