A Qualified Teacher/Coach must meet the California licensing requirements for a “School Aged Child Care Teacher” in accordance with Title 22 regulations.
A Qualified Teacher/Coach may also be responsible for the supervision of a Teacher Aide/Assistant Coach.
*Qualifications: * *Educational Requirements (must meet one of the following combinations):* 1.
12 semester units (18 quarter units) of passing grades in ECE/Child Development (classes include, but not limited to child/human growth and development; child, family and community, program/curriculum), or a related field (e.
g.
, recreation, education, or sociology) AND at least 6 months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program OR, 2.
6 semester units of passing grades in ECE/Child Development (classes include, but not limited to child/human growth and development; child, family and community, program/curriculum), or a related field (e.
g.
, recreation, education, or sociology) AND currently enrolled in at least 2 units a semester until the educational requirement in subdivision (1) is satisfied AND at least 6 months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program *Other Requirements:* · Possess Preventative Health & Safety including Nutrition Certificate (within 30 days of employment) · Pediatric & Adult First Aide and CPR · Must be at least 21 years of age · Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training, Medication Administration Online and CDSS Mandated Reporter Training Online (AB 1207) within 30 days of hire · Completion of Licensing Operations & Record Keeping CCLD- online within 30 days of hire · All personnel shall be in good health and shall be physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
Verification through a health screening, including a documented negative test for TB (not more than one year old) as well as documentation of MMR (within 20 years) & TDAP (within 10 years) vaccinations · Obtain a California clearance or a criminal record exemption as required by law (from DOJ/CACI and FBI) prior to working with children on site · This position is a supervisory position and requires the ability to make sound and independent decisions that protect children, families, staff, the program and the organization · Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with all individuals at all levels · Experience working in diverse communities and highly competent across cultures · Ability to hold self and staff team to high expectations as well as skills in coaching and training staff · Ability to understand and sign California State Licensing’s “Notification of Employee Rights” (LIC 9052) *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * · Understand the developmental needs and expectations of youth across the ages · Ability to relate to youth and adults in a positive manner · Understand and have a working knowledge of positive behavior guidance and discipline with youth · Demonstrated knowledge and skill in different program areas such as sports, academic enrichment, camp activities, etc.
· Based on availability and programming needs, hours scheduled will be between 2 to 6 pm, Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends, for maximum hours of 26 to 30 hours per week · Ability to have FUN while also being safe *Physical Aspects of the Job: * · Ability to communicate and work with different participating groups (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to participants and staff · Ability to observe participant behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques · Ability to observe staff behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate management techniques · Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the environment · Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid.
Must be able to assist participants in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, injury, etc.
) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of participants · Some physical requirements may include prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, walking long distances, and stretching; requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and program activities; requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate participant activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; willing to work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities; and with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and outdoor events *Additional Information: * · This job description is not definite and it may be necessary to perform other duties as assigned when requested by your supervisor with reasonable expectations and within a reasonable amount of time · All facility personnel shall be competent to provide the services necessary to meet the individual needs of children in care and shall at all times be employed in numbers sufficient to meet those needs Work Remotely * No Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $22.
