San José, CA 95116 Job Mission: Transportation staff escort or drive students to their Work Study jobs providing a safe and timely commute.
Shifts: Mon.
-Fri.
Mornings 7:30-10:00 AM and Afternoons 3:15-5:30 PM Requirements: Must own a cell phone, and be willing to use it to communicate with CWSP staff and students.
Must have a clean DMV driving record.
Must pass a Verify Group background check.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must be very reliable and punctual.
Must have experience working with youth.
The Corporate Work Study Program Every Cristo Rey student takes a full college prep course load as he/she works one day each week to fund the majority of their tuition.
Each student works five full days a month.
Their academic schedules are structured so that students work without missing any classes.
Van Driver Position Van drivers transport students to their Work Study jobs in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
Drivers are assigned a regionally oriented route and a 6-psgr Toyota minivan or a 12-psgr Ford Transit or Chevy Express van.
Responsibilities: Enforce school rules while in van.
Support students with kind words and advice.
Maintain cleanliness in the vehicle.
Communicate updates, report maintenance needs, and report student physical/ socio-emotional concerns with CWSP staff.
Additional Requirements: Must have a valid US California’s Driver’s License.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Bus Chaperone Position Bus Chaperones escort students to their Work Study jobs in Downtown San José in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon.
Chaperones are assigned a regionally oriented bus route and are responsible for supervising assigned students.
Responsibilities: Enforce school rules on public transportation.
Support students with kind words and advice.
Maintain safety on the bus and streets.
Always communicate updates, and report student physical/socio-emotional concerns with CWSP staff.
Troubleshoot issues that arise on public transit.
Additional Requirements: Must be comfortable using or learning to use public transportation.
Must be at least 18 years old.
