Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School is hiring for various teaching positions for Summer Session 2022.
CRSJ’s summer session program is designed to help current students remediate high school courses in English, Math, Science, Spanish, and Social Studies.
SUMMER SESSION DATES Professional Development Day on June 17- June 18, 2024 Summer Session Program Dates: June 20 - July 19, 2024 MISSION STATEMENT Cristo Rey is a Jesuit, Catholic high school that empowers students from underserved communities in San José to be men and women for and with others who are prepared spiritually, academically, and professionally to complete college and who will become accomplished leaders committed to a lifelong pursuit of learning, faith, and justice.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT AND VALUES - VISION FOR EDUCATORS Cristo Rey San José Jesuit High School educators will consistently work as a team to model and help all students reach the characteristics of the Cristo Rey San Jose Graduate at Graduation: loving, open to growth, committed to faith, striving for justice, and intellectually and professionally engaged.
This includes: Personally modeling and simultaneously empowering students to live out Ignatian values of faith, service, and commitment to social justice Guiding our students to understand what having a growth mindset means Promoting and assessing student ownership of learning by developing students’ self-discipline, study skills, persistence, and delayed gratification Fostering a classroom culture of respect, honesty, and integrity Developing meaningful opportunities in class for student leadership and growth of self confidence Creating opportunities for students to utilize complex reasoning strategies and problem solving skills Consistently engages in work with positivity and adapts to the student and institutional needs with openness Teaching key content knowledge for given subject OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Serving as a prefect during breaks and lunch times.
Maintaining an updated gradebook throughout the summer Other duties as assigned and agreed upon with the Directors of Summer Session.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree and/or Single Subject Teaching Credential in the subject area of instruction.
Experience teaching middle or high schoolers.
Ability to use teaching technologies, online and in-person.
Successful clearance of a background check, CANRA and any other state and federal requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Stand or sit for long periods of time.
Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
Understand the speech of another person.
Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
See details of objects that are more than a few feet away.
Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
SALARY AND COMPENSATION $70/hr Creating and implementing curriculum for content area Teaching two 80 minute blocks and one hour of prep time per class daily (approximately 4-5 hours a day commitment).
Contract will include a Professional Development day on June 17 - June 18, 2024 and the Summer Session program dates of June 20 - July 19, 2024.
