*Job Description:*
As a piano teacher at our studio, you will first team-teach with an experienced instructor while you learn the curriculum and gain hands-on experience.
Once your trial period is complete, you may solo-teach several group classes per week as well as private lessons.
Applicants must be able to commit to this position for at least 6 months to ensure educational continuity for their students.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Always be clean and well-dressed
* Always arrive early or on time - lateness will not be tolerated.
If you must be late or need to cancel, proactive communication is always appreciated.
* Teach at least three 1-hour group piano classes each week with an option to also offer private lessons.
The studio has the most availability on Saturdays and Sundays.
* Create engaging lesson plans that consider the needs of each individual student and foster collaborative music-making
* Manage classroom dynamics to keep learning positive, respectful, and productive
* Help students prepare for studio events and performance opportunities
* Take weekly attendance, write customized lesson notes for each class, and track student progress
* Review practice recordings submitted by students and provide prompt feedback
* Proactively communicate with parents and help them support their student during practice time
* Maintain open communication with the parent about the student's behavior and progress
* Stay current by studying the latest teaching methods, continuously look for new repertoire, and engaging in networking opportunities
*Qualifications:*
* Proficient in piano
* Deep understanding of music theory
* Collaborative music-making experience on any instrument
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
* Outstanding organizational and time management skills
* Willingness to learn new technologies
* A warm personality with abundant patience and enthusiasm
* A passion for teaching music to students of all ages
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit various learning styles
* Currently pursuing or completed Bachelor's degree in any field, though degrees in Music or Education are preferred; Min GPA: 3.

*Compensation Structure:*
* $15/hr for team-teaching with an experienced teacher
* $8-10/hr per student for solo-teaching group classes (e.
g.
3 students/class equates to $8\*3 = $24/hr)
* Hourly rate is subject to teacher experience and regular performance reviews
* $20 weekly stipend for lesson planning once you are qualified to solo-teach group classes
* $60/hr for private lessons
* $100 commission for referring new team members
