Aqua Fitness Instructors provide well planned in water work outs for the participants of their classes.
The students may include adolescents and adults, including people with special needs and different swimming abilities.
Class sizes vary.
Schedule
Must be able to work flexible hours, including morning, mid-day, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary
The pay range for this position is $22.
00 to $28.
50 per hour.
This is a part-time, temporary (non-benefited), year-round position.
Selection Process
Applications will be screened and those applicants determined to have the best experience, skills, and qualifications will be invited for an oral interview.
Prior to appointment, applicant must authorize a reference check.
Prior to appointment, a background check must be completed, including fingerprinting for submission to the Department of Justice, as well as Tuberculosis (TB) screening.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plan and execute a well-structured exercise plan that is safe and comfortable for participants.
Adapt your approaches to the age, experience, and ability of participants.
Maintain constant supervision of all participants, even while providing individual instruction.
Effectively communicate verbally with supervisor, staff and participants.
Inform supervisor of any safety issues or concerns.
Knowledge of basic exercise science as it applies to Aqua Fitness.
Be familiar with the description and requirements for classes offered through the City of Morgan Hill.
Perform rescues, administer first aid, perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and summon Supervisors and emergency personnel as required for injuries or other medical emergencies.
Ensure the safety of all participants in Aqua Fitness classes; submit Accident/Incident Reports to the Supervisor within 24 hours of any incident.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
Education:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent is desirable
Experience:
Previous experience as an Aqua Fitness Instructor is desirable.
Certificates:
Current First Aid, CPR
Aqua Fitness certification within first year of hire
Special Requirements:
Position requires flexible availability.
Applicants must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Applicants must be physically capable of sustained walking, standing, or climbing.
Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours; including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
