The elementary teacher will provide instruction in English Language Arts, Math and Social Studies to students in a private school environment.
While ELA is a strong component in our bilingual school, we are also looking for an individual passionate in teaching math.
The candidate selected for this position will also prepare course objectives and outlines for the course of study following curriculum guidelines, and using instructional materials provided.
*Job duties*
The job duties include, but are not limited to:
§ Planning and implementing a curriculum progression appropriate for the needs of FASSV students.
§ Maintaining current knowledge of curriculum and instructional methods.
§ Actively engaging students in learning by creating a student-centered classroom.
§ Comfortable and up to date with the latest technology, while not using technology as the main source of instruction and inspiration.
§ Conducting classes and scholarly work with integrity, and modeling exceptional character for students.
§ Maintaining order in the classroom, while inspiring a positive environment to promote learning.
§ Modeling intellectual curiosity and maintaining open-mindedness about different cultures.
§ Executing diligence in keeping attendance, preparing grade records per school rules, and evaluating classwork and assessments regularly in a fair and equitable manner.
§ Developing academic relationships with students in order to counsel them as needed, and proactively discussing student’s academic and behavioral attitudes and achievement with parents.
§ Building connections with colleagues in order to grow and develop, as well as sharing talent.
§ Being actively involved in the French-American School of Silicon Valley’s community.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
(Required)
* Valid Elementary Multiple Subject Teaching credential.
(Preferred)
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in the English Language.
* Experience teaching at related grade levels.
* Diverse teaching experience and a teaching style compatible with a private school environment and expectations.
* Computer literacy and ability to use education related software and databases.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
* Three (3) years of teaching at elementary grade level.
* Prior experience teaching in a multicultural environment.
* Comfortable in Dual Language Environment
