The Jewish Studies Department at Kehillah Jewish High School is seeking an experienced Jewish Studies teacher for the upcoming academic year.
The ideal candidate is a dedicated educator whose expertise and passion have prepared them to teach engaging courses on Jewish History (American and European), Holocaust Studies, Israel Studies, and courses related to Jews and race.
Familiarity with pre-Modern Jewish Studies and classic Jewish text is preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $101,000, based on years of teaching experience.

Prepare lesson plans for up to five classes with clear objectives that facilitate active learning.
Develop daily lesson planning with clear objectives that facilitate active learning.
Assign and evaluate classwork and exams to students; prepare required reports, and communicate progress to parents and colleagues.
Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and materials with Dean; develop scope and sequence.
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction; adapt new technology and teaching strategies to encourage the progress of individual students.
Post accurate and timely student attendance, grades, and other required records on PowerSchool/Schoology.
Attend and contribute to department and staff meetings, as needed.
Join the Student Confidential Learning Plan as needed.
Use effective in-person and virtual classroom management techniques in accordance with school policies.
Provide timely and tactful feedback to parents regarding student progress including quarter and semester comment writing; make phone calls home for students of concern.
Attend and participate in departmental initiatives; support extracurricular student activities when available.
Actively engage in the year-long Professional Growth Plan (PGP) and meet all benchmarks.
Guide student behavior to foster academic achievement, personal responsibility, intellect, and individuality.
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students; be flexible if sharing a classroom.
If assigned an Advisory role, implement curriculum, meet with Advisees regularly, and actively partner with the Learning Center and teachers.
Chaperone school events and class trips, as assigned.
Be a role model for the School’s educational philosophy as articulated by Our Four Commitments.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree or higher a plus.
At least 3 years of teaching Jewish Studies classes, preferably in a high school setting.
Live in the State of California and work on campus during the Employee’s regularly scheduled hours.
