Notre Dame High School, San Jose is the center for women’s leadership in Silicon Valley and has provided an exceptional Catholic college preparatory education for young women since 1851.

The English Program
Notre Dame High School has a college preparatory English curriculum, with a strong honors and advanced placement program.
The department utilizes classical and contemporary literature to develop students’ critical thinking and literary analysis skills while promoting clear communication through writing and speaking.
Students are encouraged to develop their own voice as they explore culturally diverse literature rich with a focus on women’s issues and social justice.
This program is part of an integrated curricular design developed among the English, Religious Studies and Social Studies departments.
Responsibilities:
* Differentiate instruction to support student learning styles and needs
* Collaborate on inclusive curriculum development that features diverse literary voices
* Familiarity with educational research and current literature in academic area
* Fluent in education technology integration in instruction and assessment
* Work in an innovative learning community that strives for equitable practices, such as standards based grading approaches
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s Degree in English; Master’s Degree preferred
* Current teaching credential
Preferred Qualifications:
* Three to five years of high school teaching experience
* Experience with common core standards in English Language Arts
* Demonstrated leadership capacity
