We are currently searching for DECA Coaches.
DECA Coaches are past Harker DECA members who were very competitively successful.
All coaches are tasked to best prepare current Harker DECA members for the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in April.
Each coach is paired with 3-4 ICDC-qualifying teams, each team containing 1-3 students.
The coach is responsible for spending at least 3 hours with each team they are paired with, by communicating and scheduling virtual preparation sessions.
Coaches are required to complete a certain number of graded roleplays/presentations (DECA competitive events) with each team before the advisor/chapter given deadlines (depending on the conference).
Start Date: Dependent upon the needs of the program
Hourly Pay Range: $20 - $25

Qualifications
Eligibility: Harker DECA Chapter Alumni that has qualified and competed in an International Career Development Conference during their time as a member.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicating with their assigned teams to arrange meetings leading up to the conference.
- Regularly updating the checkoff spreadsheet after meetings.
- Notifying the Harker DECA Officer Team or Mr.
Glass of any issues that may occur (eg.
not being able to make a previously arranged meeting with their team, the team not showing up at the meeting, etc.
)
Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements
DECA Coaches must have:
- A good understanding of DECA competitive events, especially in the events their assigned teams are competing in.
- The ability to judge and grade DECA competitive events.
- The ability to give tips and constructive feedback on changes that can be made.
Working Conditions
DECA Coaches can hold meetings with their assigned teams through Zoom or in person, if possible.
Ideally, both parties will be in a quiet setting with no distractions.
