We are seeking a Social-Emotional Learning teacher for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond.

The social-emotional teacher at Athena Academy is integral to the culture of our school and is responsible for delivering curriculum to support the social and emotional growth of our students, as well as providing individual and group support to students by responding to situations that arise during the school day.
The SEL teacher also provides guidance to families in individual meetings as needed.
They will develop and lead at least 3 parent education events, typically in the evening, during the school year.
This supports our families by building a common language and understanding and helps to support student growth and cultivate a positive community.
We are looking for a teacher who understands the developmental stages of children grades 1-8 and who loves working with that age group.
Clear communication, creativity, and flexibility are essential skills.
This teacher will work in a highly collaborative environment to build on the dynamic program already in place and will fully participate in the life of the school.
Our recess and breaks offer unique opportunities for in the moment SEL lessons, our SEL teacher is typically out with students during these times.
