Job Title: Head Junior Varsity Athletic Coach (HS Baseball)
Job Status: Part-Time - Seasonal

Reports to: Athletic Director

Requirements:
Essential Job Functions
Use your God given gifts and talents to mentor student athletes in their sport
Teach the athletes about ethical behavior and good sportsmanship
Ensures students are participating in a fair and sportsmanlike manner
Ensures safety of students while traveling to away games
Maintains knowledge of league, section, and state rules pertaining to their sport
Assist the athletes in developing leadership and life skills
Assume the responsibility for safely and effectively managing groups of students
Stays informed regarding weekly sports emails, updated developments and changes
Prepare and execute practice plans
Attend all practices and games
Remain with the team until their parents pick them up
Refer hurt athletes to the athletic trainers
Encourage, equip and empower coaches and athletes to impact the world for Christ
Coordinate prayer time, devotions and team bonding events to create enduring relationships
Qualifications
General Requirements
Must be at least 18-years old
Must have 2-3 years of experience in the sport you’re desiring to coach
Skills and Abilities
Strong leadership qualities and mentoring skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to create a nurturing, loving environment where our student athletes can thrive

Commitment to loving and serving Jesus Christ
Exhibit Biblical coaching - Coaching by the Power of God, according to the Word of God and for the Glory of God
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment
Positive, flexible, resourceful and solution-oriented
Able to understand, love and relate to students
Must be active in a local Christian body of believers
Must have compatible theology in line with TKA's Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Agreement
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Will stand and walk for extended periods of time
Frequently communicates with students, parents and athletics department
Majority of time may be spent outside resulting in exposure to extremes in either heat or cold as weather and temperatures vary.
May occasionally have to lift up to 40-pounds
Work is generally performed during the school year from 3pm to 6pm, but varies based on the sports schedules
The timeframes listed are approximate, and the actual days, start and end times will be dictated by the seasonal sports calendar
Compensation
Pay Grid: Athletics
Pay Grid Range: $3,000 to $4,000
The amounts listed above represent the pay for the entire season based on the routine hours that are expected to be worked.
The actual pay will be determined by (1) applicable years of experience, (2) sport being coached and (3) level of the team being coached.
The starting pay listed reflects this position's minimum pay .
The top pay range represents the top of the pay grid for this position.
It is rare for a candidate to enter this position at the top of the pay grid.
Most candidates can expect to enter in the lower to middle section of the pay grid, depending on experience and education.
