Job Summary
TKA is a Christ-Centered school grounded in a Biblical worldview, and we are looking for a Junior High Principal who is a follower of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to the school’s Christ-Centered mission.
The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee all aspects of TKA’s Junior High School (grades 6th-8th.
This position is a vital part of the school’s leadership team as well as several committees that oversee various aspects related to academics, admissions and accreditation.
Requirements:
Essential Job Functions
Student-Centric
Oversees 350-400 Junior High students
Collaborates with faculty to assist students experiencing significant academic challenges
Mentors a group of students by meeting daily as part of the school’s home group program
Counsels students struggling with emotional, spiritual, academic or other difficulties
Collaborates with the Dean’s Office on significant junior high discipline matters
Assists students toward spiritual maturity through mentoring relationships
Oversees, in conjunction with the Social Studies department, the 8th Grade East Coast Trip
Collaborates with Science Department Co-Lead to plan and execute the 6th grade Science Camp
Faculty-Centric
Researches and trains faculty on best teaching practices and resources
Collaborate with Director of C&I to ensure the integration of a Biblical Worldview as well as ensuring TKA’s educational standards are prioritized and achieved
Collaborates with the leadership team to establish and implement policy and procedures
Manages, mentors and evaluates teachers who have been at TKA for 5+ years, the Registrar and the VPA Specialist
Parent/Community Centric
Networks with local Christian School Administrators (ACSI, CSA, etc)
Participates on the admissions committee as an interviewer of prospective students
Actively participates in grade-level and school-wide events
Provides opportunities for students and parents to provide feedback
Hosts several JH events throughout the year for students and families
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s in Educational Administration preferred
5+ years in school administration is required
10+ years teaching experience is preferred
Administrative certification (ACSI or State) required within 1-year of hire
Teaching Credential preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong problem-solving, listening and analytical skills
Able to work both independently and in a team setting
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, ability to learn new computer software systems
Knowledge of adolescent development, basic counseling, budgeting, curriculum

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Required to use the computer throughout the day
Frequently communicates with students and must be able to accurately answer questions related to the Bible, Spiritual Gifts, the Christian Life, etc.
Work will be performed from the campus as well as offsite
Will move throughout the campus during the day
Attendance at Student Life events and activities (onsite and offsite) is required
May occasionally have to lift up to 20-pounds
Work is generally performed, Year-Round, Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.
m.
to 4:00 p.
m.
This position will occasionally require you to work nights, weekends and overnights (for trips/events).

Pay Grid: Junior High Principal
Pay Grid Range: $118,766 to $153,651
This position is paid based on a preset salary grid, and the actual salary will be determined by applicable education and experience as determined by Human Resources.
