The University of Chicago Education Lab in partnership with MDRC, Bay Area Tutoring Association and local universities are working together to accelerate literacy and computer-based instruction for underserved students in San Jose elementary schools caused by the pandemic.

*Program Selection Process*
Individuals that are eligible to participate as tutors in leading the instruction at select elementary schools are graduate students, students in teacher credentialing programs, work-study students, night school participants and undergrads passionate about increasing the literacy proficiency of underserved students that reside in San Jose low-income communities.

The Santa Clara County Personalized Learning Initiative is approximately 100 school days (4 months) with training beginning in early January.
* Days of Week: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm
* Program Duration: Jan 08, 2024 - May 31, 2024
* Grade Levels Served: 1st - 5th grade students
* Subjects: Literacy, Computer-Based Instruction
* Location: Elementary School In Low Income San Jose Community
