Position Summary:
Fusion Academy Los Gatos has an opening for a Homework Café® teacher to motivate homework completion and help support students' executive functioning skills in our Homework Café® for students grades 6-12 .
Candidate must have a positive energy, ability to function in a high-paced environment, be calm and open for feedback, as well as a self-starter.
They must respect the personhood of the student, creating connective relationships while maintaining authority, boundaries, and discipline.
Must maintain a clean and organized milieu space for students to learn.
This position's hours are 10:30 - 5:30, Monday - Thursday.
If full-time hours are desired by the candidate, this role can be combined with at least 4 hours per week of 1:1 classroom teaching.
This teaching would ideally be in executive functioning, but other classes in the candidate's area of expertise are welcome.
This position is available for an immediate start.
Starting Pay: $32.
10/hour
Key Responsibilities Include:
Monitor and help students’ progress in completion of homework.
Communicate with teachers and parents on student progress.
Promote a positive social environment for students.
Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents.
Contribute to and benefit from the campus community.
Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement.
Significant student mentoring.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
Experience with Special Education and Youth Mental Health background a plus.
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, a great communicator and a self-starter.
