About RISE Education System
RISE Academy is a subsidiary of RISE Education System, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Cognia.

We are looking to hire an in-person elementary school Quran Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year for the RISE Academy Campus in San Jose, California, starting in Fall of 2024.
Job Expectations: Shared Vision: Supports a vision of excellence for all students, with an urgency to maximize every opportunity necessary to achieve ambitious student outcomes Culture of Excellence: Fosters a safe, culturally responsive and nurturing community where students love learning and are excited to attend school daily Teaching and Learning: Creates powerfully engaging experiences aligned to our academic model, and designed to accelerate student learning and achievement Data & Assessment: Regularly engage in individual student case management, by proactively making data-driven decisions Professional Growth: Committed to continuous growth, actively engages in professional development opportunities, and contributes to our professional learning community Community Outreach: Demonstrates commitment to the community by communicating regularly with families and attending key school community events Responsibilities Include: Planning, developing, and implementing lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s instructional program and showing written evidence of preparations as required Preparing lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student abilities and learning styles Modifying curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP) Providing students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social growth Conducting ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing and providing remediation as appropriate to ensure student mastery Creating a classroom environment conducive to active and successful student learning and appropriate for the physical, social, spiritual, and emotional development of students Establishing and maintaining effective open communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators Participating in staff professional development activities Completing appropriate documentation for students participating in special programs as required by state and federal guidelines Abiding by the staff handbook, all policies, procedures, laws, and state/federal regulations Assisting with school events and extracurricular activities Performing other duties as assigned Curriculum and teacher mentorship will be provided Required Skills/Qualities: Passionate about teaching how to read the Qur’an and the meaning of the Qur'an Knowledge of curriculum and instruction in Arabic Passionate about holistic development Ability to differentiate instructions based on the needs of the students Ability to effectively manage a classroom and student behavior Ability to communicate effectively with others Ability to work with various forms of equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, calculators, projectors, and printers Ability to work with computer tools, including but not limited to, email, internet, word processing and spreadsheets Ability to work in collaborative team-based environments Preferred Skills/Qualities: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in education, Qur'an, Qur'anic Arabic, or a related subject Experience teaching Quran/Arabic in a formal setting Compensation: The compensation range is based on teaching credentials (the starting salary for non-credentialed teachers is $20 / hour and for credentialed teachers is $27 / hour), working experience, academic degrees, and certifications.
