Ascend Career Services is partnering with Pacific Autism Center for Education to hire an Instructional Aide to work one on one with autistic students.
PACE was founded in 1989 to enhance the lives of people impacted by autism, through innovation, exceptional education, and compassionate care.
The Pacific Autism Center for Education (PACE) provides high-quality programs for children and adults with autism.
At PACE, we serve individuals who live with moderate-to-severe autism, especially those who struggle with communication.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM
Position Overview:
As an Instructional Aide, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting students with autism within a specialized education classroom.
You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to create a positive and enriching learning experience for every student.

Responsibilities:
Individualized Support:
Work one-on-one with students based on their Individual Education Program (IEP) goals.
Assist students in understanding and completing academic tasks.
Guide students to stay focused on academics by helping them find the right materials, follow instructions, and participate actively in class.
Behavior Management:
Implement behavior plans created by behavior specialists.
Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment.
Help students manage their behavior effectively.
Schedule Assistance:
Accompany students to different classes and therapy sessions.
Assist with transitions and ensure a smooth daily schedule.
Physical Education:
Participate in physical education activities alongside students.
Support students in playing games and mastering physical skills.
Key Qualifications:
Caring, reliable, organized, and able to maintain good work attendance
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and parents.
High School diploma or GED equivalent
At least 18 years of age (or 25 years to drive PACE vans)
Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record and proof of insurance
Clean DOJ and FBI background clearances
Experience with autism preferred, but not required
Able to pass physical and TB test
