Raised by Rats plays heavy punk-influenced garage rock at venues and parties up and down the Bay Area.
We have a full set of original songs ready to go now and another half dozen in the pipeline.
A cover or two might get mixed in for fun but we are really about crafting our own.
Our ideal drummer has a big sound, heavy hands, and a desire to actively engage in song writing with anything from straight rock and roll, to shuffle, to blast beats.
And be happy to work in a collaborative creative process where everyone brings their own sounds and ideas to the table.
This is not an ego project or "one man's vision", just low-stress PMA guys 30-50 yo that get along and love to rock out together.
You should bring a strong work ethic, do the homework before weekly rehearsals, and be stoked to push the band forward.
We have a great 24-7 studio in San Jose near the airport.
Rent is pretty cheap and the room is clean and secure.
We also have a quality DW house kit - just bring your brass.
We look to play out 5-10 times a year, including a couple out of town gigs, and eventually rent some studio time.
