Los Gatos Swim and Racquet Club was founded in 1959 and remains one of the longest lasting family-owned fitness clubs in the United States.
We have a 6-acre facility that offers a variety of programs in Aquatics, Group Exercise, Yoga, Pilates, Fitness, Tennis, Pickleball, and Childcare.
We also offer a variety of social activities for the entire family.
We are looking for a Full-Time Facilities Director to work with the General Manager and Owners to ensure a facility that is safe, pleasant, and functional for our members and guests.
The Facilities Director directs up to 10 day and evening maintenance, landscaping, and housekeeping staff.
The successful candidate should have strong leadership capabilities and a pleasant and outgoing personality.
Swimming Pool and/or Tennis court experience is a bonus.

JOBS SUPERVISED: FULL AND PART TIME MAINTENANCE AND
HOUSEKEEPING STAFF
STATUS: FULL TIME, SALARIED/EXEMPT
JOB PURPOSE: Provides a clean, safe club environment by directing, installation, and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems.
Manages all maintenance staff needed to ensure a smooth operation of all areas of club.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:
• Identifies current and future maintenance and housekeeping requirements by establishing rapport with management and staff, tradesman, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand maintenance requirements.
• Achieves financial objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating actions.
•Ensures club safety and security through continuous monitoring of facilities systems, complete daily walkthrough of entire club to ensure a clean, organized, safe, and well-maintained facility, paying special attention to cleanliness and facility repair.
• Ensures production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, equipment, and building decorative needs.
• Provides heat, electric power, gas and air by directing installation of, modifications to, and maintenance activities on utility systems.
• Designs, implements, and modifies preventative maintenance programs by reviewing production of staff, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics, inspecting operating machines, equipment and systems for conformance with operational and OSHA standards.
• Performs purchasing of supplies, equipment, tools, within purchase order guidelines.
• Monitors all workers’ compensation accidents/injuries and reports immediately on actions, progress of employees, action taken to avoid reoccurrence.
• Directs operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Resolves problems with equipment, cleanliness, or safety issues by conferring with management and members.
• Protects employees and members by maintaining a safe and clean working environment; trains staff in current safety procedures; monitors certification program and backgrounds.
• Completes maintenance and housekeeping operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
• Maintains maintenance and housekeeping staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Monitors and maintains all employee behavior and actions by taking corrective and preventative action to ensure team cohesion and to prevent any discriminatory practices by staff and members.
• Maintains maintenance and housekeeping staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical manuals, establishing personal networks.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
•Other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
AUTHORITY LEVELS:
Hire, discipline and terminate staff.
Contact outside independent contractors for repairs, emergency situations.

EDUCATION/ BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Trade or Vocational certificates of completion.
Minimum two years’ experience with HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing.
Minimum two years of supervisory experience.
Basic writing and math skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
