Childhood baseball cards stolen (cupertino)

My car was broken into a couple of nights ago in Sunnyvale and everything was stolen including my binder of childhood baseball cards.
They were in an old, poor condition, pokemon binder inside of card sleeve sheets.
They were collected throughout my childhood and was hoping to pass them down to my son.
I feel incredibly devastated.
I know the likelihood of retrieving what was stolen is very unlikely, but I figured it doesn't hurt to try.
