Job Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and support Linux servers and VDI infrastructure
Resolve any incidents and technical escalations.
Analyze and resolve problems associated with the operating system’s servers, hardware, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software applications absolutely REQUIRED
Record resolution details in the ticketing system.
Follow up with employees to ensure satisfactory resolution.
Perform troubleshooting and gather information on technical requests
Develop automation and documentation for recurring technical issues.
Problem Management: Perform root cause analysis for problems and major incidents, and provide workarounds to ensure business continuity.
Monitor server performance and ensure compliance with security standards using standard Linux tools as well as command-line interface tools
Change Management: Study Implementation plan, rollback plan, test plan, risk and impact analysis for critical or complex changes.
Install software, and maintain appropriate patch service levels, performance tuning, and firmware upgrades across multiple hardware platforms.
Perform system software upgrades including planning/scheduling, testing, coordination, and maintaining the integrity of the operating system environment.
Respond to outages both during normal business hours and after-hours on a need basis (on-call support).
Coordinating and interfacing with outside vendors, end users, other department team members, and service providers to resolve issues.
Escalate feedback and suggestions to the IT Manager.
Identify and suggest procedural or technical improvements to senior IT personnel.
Job Requirements
6+ years of working experience as a Linux Administrator
Operating Systems: Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
Version Control: SVN, GitLab
Scripting and Automation: Bash, Python, Ansible
Applications : SOS, Jira, Confluence.
EDA Applications: Knowledge of how EDA applications work and IBM LSF job scheduler
Networking: TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, Load Balancing and security concepts
Database Maintenance: MySQL, PostgreSQL
Monitoring and Performance: Linux monitoring tools, Syslog, SNMP
Virtualization: VMware 7 and above and Citrix Storefront
Storage: NFS and ISCSI storage concepts.
Cronjobs and rsync functionality
Strong Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving with hands-on experience with hardware rack and stack
Compensation: $80.
