*About Pilates V: *Pilates V is a locally owned and operated family business dedicated to bringing accessible Pilates equipment group classes to the masses.
We focus on building community in our studios while delivering quality and safe classes for all experience levels.
We’ve been in business for 10 years with 4-locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, from San Mateo, Sunnyvale, Campbell and Willow Glen.
*We are seeking a passionate, organized, creative, and people-loving individual to join our team as our Studio Director!* This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our studios and providing an exceptional experience for our clients and instructor team.
This role is hybrid, with 20-30 hours per week at home/remote and at least 10 hours per week (up to 20 when needed) teaching classes in the studio on a regular schedule and subbing and event support as needed.
*Responsibilities:* *Day-to-day operations:* * Manage studio class schedule, ensuring efficient use of instructor availability and maximizing coverage for critical class times and handle instructor staff substitution requests including last minute call-out’s (i.
e emergency sub protocols) in coordination with Studio Client Services Manager on all necessary client comms and changes * Run and execute payroll for the company on a bi-weekly basis, including auditing for accuracy and any errors on a regular basis * Maintain 1:1 relationships and rapport with instructor staff via regular meetings and observation, providing quality and growth focused feedback and opportunities.
* Regular bi-weekly meeting(s) with studio owner(s) and other leads to plan and execute future looking marketing schedules, events, sales, and other metrics as assigned.
* Keep regular pulse on key studio metrics including client satisfaction, sales, schedule dips and opportunities to optimize, and other metrics.
* Teach a minimum of 10-hours regularly in studio at location of choice; sub or attend events 5-10 hours per week on an as needed basis.
*Marketing:* * Promote memberships and engagement with new and existing clients via community building initiatives and campaigns * Help create and drive new marketing and engagement strategies/ campaigns to drive member engagement and repeat visits * Partner with local businesses and organizations for co-marketing opportunities as needed * Co-own email and blog campaigns including content, design, and schedule * Own and drive an annual events calendar for studios, including proposing and gaining approval for marketing budgets *Team management & Curriculum :* * Oversee the performance of instructors including class quality control, continuing education opportunities, workshop development, via regular feedback and annual reviews * Manage team to ensure policies and procedures are correctly in use; partner with Studio Client Services Manager to problem solve and resolve on the ground issues * Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment, listening to and bringing new ideas to/from team to leads for exploration and execution * Provide training and support to staff members as needed based on client and other staff feedback * Identify and help bridge eligible team members into new opportunities such as workshops, new class formats, or mentorship * Own all instructor job postings, interview process, and hiring on an as needed basis; building a strong pipeline of instructors * Co-lead annual team recalibration for bridge training and annual all-team meeting agenda * Partner with studio owner to drive Teacher Training program administration such as open house, marketing schedule, handle student inquiries and instructor facilitation schedule *Other duties:* * Assist with special events and workshops as needed * Perform administrative tasks as needed including client escalations * Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices and bring new ideas / opportunities to studio * Regular check-in’s with studio owner(s) * Budget/finance tracking such as planning/proposing, and using budgets for various needs such as events, employee perks, and marketing * Other duties as assigned *Qualifications:* * Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer service or management role, or former business owner, preferably in the fitness or wellness industry * Minimum 3 years certified and teaching as a Pilates instructor in mat, reformer, chair, and cadillac from a reputable organization (Balance Body; group instruction preferred) * Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* True self-starter, ability to work independently with limited guidance where necessary and as part of a team.
* Proficient in Google Workspace (gMail, docs, spreadsheets) and other software.
* Reliable transportation between locations and events required.
* Passion for Pilates and fitness/wellness industry a plus.
* Sales, marketing, HR, or legal experience are a plus.
*Compensation & Benefits:* * Full time (40 hours per week, may include weekends as needed), salaried, non-exempt: $90,000-$120,000 USD depending on experience and locale * Additional compensation/bonus available for Teacher Training facilitation on an as-needed basis * Hybrid role: Remote (70%) and in studio teaching/1:1 meetings/events (30%) * 2 weeks paid time off per year after 6-months probationary period * Health/Dental/Vision benefits (co-paid) * Quarterly gas mileage reimbursement for travel between studios (from one selected home studio location to other locations) * Opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment with a positive and supportive team culture.
