The Client Development Assistant - Technology (“CD Assistant”) provides support to Goodwin’s Client Development (“CD”) Teams.
The Client Development Assistant provides core support to a number of client development efforts including but not limited to: core team initiatives, proposals and RFPs, internal presentations, webinars, events and sponsorships, and thought leadership.
The assistant also helps to maintain marketing collateral material, assists with web page and bio updates, and assists with the processes for surveys, league tables and rankings.
The CD Assistant works with the Team to track ROI for key events and other Client Development activities.
These projects often involve working with different functional areas of the Marketing Department, other firm departments, and all levels of firm personnel from partners to administrative staff.
The Client Development Assistant - Technology role is part of the Department’s core support structure.
While this role supports Client Development, it may, as needed, be called upon to assist with other initiatives or Department functions.
What You’ll Do: • Provide support to key CD initiatives as determined by Department leadership.
• Support the process of developing pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.
• Working with the Client Development Teams, perform basic competitive intelligence and marketing research in preparation for client and prospect meetings, pitches/proposals, and other business development initiatives.
• Monitor industry news/developments, and assist in identifying thought leadership opportunities.
• Help field and assist with general marketing information requests from attorneys and staff and, as needed, route requests to the appropriate marketing personnel.
• Update activities and opportunities in the firm’s systems to track new and developing business.
• Maintain practice marketing materials, including practice group descriptions, brochures, slide-decks, client alerts, reprints and practice specific lists.
• Maintain done deals within the matter system and materials and assist with monthly ranking submissions.
• Provide logistical event support for Silicon Valley, San Francisco and other local-based business development events and others outside the area as needed.
• Provide support for virtual, web-based events.
• Work with the CD Team(s) and the graphics team to craft various print and electronic materials; managing the process for electronic announcements and invitations; handling pre-event logistics; providing on-site event staffing; assisting with post-event follow-up; and tracking lead generation and ROI received.
• Working with the CD leaders, Communications and PR teams in the process of securing accolades and rankings for the firm.
Work with the team to obtain information, complete surveys, directories, and other listings.
Assist in scheduling partner interviews.
• Provide support for local office marketing events, sponsorships, and other initiatives, as directed by CD leadership.
• In order to support all of these functions, the CD Assistant is expected to develop a strong understanding of essential firm technologies such as iManage, Microsoft Dynamics and Foundation as well as select business development specific technologies and industries.
• Additional responsibilities as needed.
Who You Are: • BA, BS or equivalent.
• Some experience (co-op, internships, entry-level experience) in marketing, and in a professional services environment strongly preferred.
• Effective and professional communication skills.
• Positive attitude with the ability to think objectively and work both independently and within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while prioritizing assignments.
• Ability to build rapport with attorneys and other professional staff.
• Strong organizational skills with particular attention to detail.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Strong computer skills, including web-based research, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
