Tesla Manufacturing Engineering has the important role of designing “The Machine that builds the Machine”.
We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, Sustaining, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product (from initial design through prototype development and into full production) to develop high quality and efficient manufacturing equipment and processes that will produce the power electronics that drive our cars and energy products.
The role of the SMT Quality technician is to support the PCBA team in producing world-class Power Electronics Boards.
*What You’ll Do*
* Perform income inspections on components and outgoing PCBAs
* Create material issues quality reports
* Create build quality reports
* Track process issues, from the SMT line, to their resolution
* Assist design and manufacturing engineering team with root cause analysis
* Assist NPI technicians on the line setup when it’s needed
*What You’ll Bring*
* AS in a technical topic or high school diploma with 3+ years pertinent experience in SMD and PCB/PCBA quality control
* Experience in a factory organization
* Knowledgeable about production quality metrics
* Exemplary written communication and technical report writing skills
* Experience with manual machining and other fabrication processes
* Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
* Mastery of Word and Excel
* Able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision toward a stated goal
* Able to converse technically with engineers
