*Job Title: *Meter Technician
*Department: *Field Services
*Reports To: *Director of Field Service
*Summary: *Reads, services, and installs electric, gas, or water meters.
*Supervisory Responsibilities:*
· None
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities* include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
· Install, repair, and inspect water meters, meter pits and meter reading equipment, valves, pressure regulators and flow testing meters.
· Respond to customer service requests, not limited to rereading meters and checking for leaks.
· Complete site inspections and keep and turn in accurate records of site inspections.
· Maintain records of work performed and materials used and turn in paperwork in a timely manner.
· Read and record water, gas and/or electric meters in a regular cycle schedule, as needed to assist meter reading team
· Drive company vehicle to/from job sites.
· Ensure company vehicle(s) are cleaned and maintained.
· Deliver and pick up meters/meter parts.
· Ensure time and leave is reported accurately and timecard approved, and other administrative paperwork is managed.

· Maintain storage space, including cleanliness and organization.
· Keep inventory records accurate.
· Process delivery of parts into inventory, and record usage as needed.
*Required Skills/Abilities*
· Valid driver’s license
· Clear DMV record (one moving violation or less in the last past three years)
· Within 30 days complete the Registered Service Agent (RSA) certification
· Able to identify and resolve operational, technical, and procedural problems
· Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
· Must be comfortable interacting with customers daily
· Familiar with common hand tools and power tools, and ability to work within safety guidelines
· Comfortable working as a team or alone for extended periods of time
· Travel may be required on a non-recurring basis
*Education*
· Highschool diploma/G.
E.
D.
*Experience:*
· One year (full-time equivalent) of public contact experience is desirable.
· Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
*Physical Requirements:*
· Able to lift 50 pounds
· Ability to crouch for long periods of time
· Comfortable climbing ladders
· Handle all types of weather, in varying temperatures and conditions
· Able to sit for long periods of time while driving
· Able to walk several miles per day
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.
00 - $27.
00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
